Jan 22, 2021 I have used both heat and air Cerakote. Both work very well on firearms. The only down side to air dry is the wait time. Air dry is stronger then heat dry when it comes to being exposed to high temps. I find it easier to work with and has less waste.

Neither is necessarily better or worse than the other and, properly done, neither should have any issues with wear in normal use. There is less waste with the air cure as you aren't mixing up a two part setup. KG Gunkotes thermal cure and air cure are both 1 part and hold up just as good if not better then the Cerakote does.
