The other day I put them in the oven again at 200 for probably 8 hours just to make sure they had not absorbed any moisture since Dec. I followed all the directions and put them in my pressure pot at 40 for an hour.

Nov 03, 2017 Crazy. But seriously, if it’s sunny outside dry the pine cones in a place in the sun, off the ground. Otherwise, on a sunny ledge or counter is fine. But the oven at 200 degrees, or near another heat source, will bake any insects in the cones, or run them out. I don’t think I’ve ever baked pine cones except to demo to others. ??

Sep 23, 2012 I decided to leave it in the oven an additional 10 or so minutes. Batch A was in the oven at 200 degrees then for approximately 40-45 minutes and nothing happened! I put batch B in the oven at 300 degrees F for 30 minutes. The only difference is for batch B I started to smell the pine cone scent, but that is it.
